Cancellation Policy
A cancellation fee will be charged after the reservation is confirmed. If the Guest does not contact the Facility and does not arrive by 17:00, the starting time of the Cooking Experience on the reserved date, the Facility may treat the reservation for the Comprehensive Service including Accommodation as cancelled by the Guest. If the Guest arrives late on the day and is unable to participate in any scheduled experience, no refund will be issued for that experience, regardless of the reason. In cases of force majeure, Section 3 will apply.
“Comprehensive Service including Accommodation” refers to one-night accommodation, the Cooking Experience, Matcha Experience, Calligraphy Experience, and optional activities (Rice Ball & Tamagoyaki Experience, Kimono Experience). “Facility” refers to “Hanyu-no-obasanchi” “Guest” refers to the applicant and all persons listed on the reservation form for the Comprehensive Service including Accommodation.
1. Cancellation Fees
Until 15 days before the reserved date: No charge
14 to 8 days before the reserved date: 50%
7 days before the reserved date to the day of use: 100%
2. Refund Policy
Refunds will be issued after deducting payment processing and refund handling fees, in addition to the applicable cancellation fee.
Even when no cancellation fee applies, payment processing and refund handling fees will still be deducted.
3. Force Majeure
In cases of force majeure—such as major natural disasters or infectious disease outbreaks (pandemics) reported in international news—cancellation fees will be waived as a special exception. If the Guest can provide documentation issued by the transportation operator (e.g., delay certificates) proving that the cancellation was due to reasons beyond the Guest’s control, such as non-operation or delays of public transportation (trains, airplanes, etc.), the cancellation fee will also be waived.
4. Other Cancellations
For cancellations not covered under Section 3, the cancellation fees listed in Section 1 will apply.
