ACCOMMODATION TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Chapter 1: General Provisions
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms and Conditions (“the Terms”) define the conditions for the accommodation and cultural experience services provided by “Hanyu no Obasan-chi” (“the Facility”) and clarify the rights and obligations between the Facility and its guests (“the Guest”).
Article 2 (Definitions)
For the purposes of these Terms, the following definitions apply:
1. “Services”
Accommodation (one night) and cultural experiences included in the accommodation fee, such as Japanese cooking, matcha, and calligraphy experiences.
2. “Optional Services”
Paid services that the Guest may add upon request, including the Onigiri & Tamagoyaki Experience and the Kimono Experience.
3. “Guest”
Any person who applies for the Services or Optional Services.
4. “Facility”
Refers to “Hanyu no Obasan-chi”
Article 3 (Scope of Application)
Contracts for accommodation and experience services between the Facility and the Guest shall be governed by these Terms. Matters not stipulated herein shall be governed by applicable laws and generally established customs.
Article 4 (Special Agreements)
If the Facility agrees to a special agreement that does not violate laws or customs, such agreement shall prevail over these Terms.
Chapter 2: Reservations and Contract Formation
Article 5 (Reservation Application)
Persons wishing to reserve the Services shall complete the reservation form designated by the Facility and provide the following information:
1. Representative’s name (in English alphabet)
2. Nationality
3. Preferred language
4. Contact information (telephone number or email address)
5. Number of guests (13 years old and above only)
6. Check-in and check-out dates (one-night stay only)
7. Whether halal support is required
8. Details of the selected cooking experience
9. Other information deemed necessary by the Facility
Article 6 (One Group per Day / One-Night Stay Only)
The Facility accepts only one group per day, and stays are limited to one night. Consecutive-night stays are not accepted.
Article 7 (Formation of Contract)
1. The contract is deemed concluded when the Facility accepts the reservation application and the Guest completes advance payment, and the Facility confirms receipt of such payment.
2. If advance payment is not completed, the reservation shall not be considered confirmed.
Article 8 (Guest Registration)
1. Upon check-in, the Guest shall provide the following information:
(1) Name
(2) Age
(3) Gender
(4) Address
(5) Occupation
(6) Nationality
(7) Passport number (for non-residents of Japan)
(8) Date of entry into Japan (for non-residents of Japan)
(9) Other information deemed necessary by the Facility
2. Guests without a residential address in Japan shall present their passport, and the Facility shall make a copy of it.
Article 9 (Facility Usage Hours)
1. The Guest may use the Facility from check-in until check-out.
2. The Facility’s curfew is 22:00. Entry, exit, or re-entry after 22:00 is not permitted.
3. Shared spaces such as the kitchen and living room may be used until 22:30.
4. The bathroom and laundry facilities may be used until 23:00.
5. Use outside the above hours is not permitted unless specially approved by the Facility.
Article 10 (Refusal of Contract)
The Facility may refuse to conclude a contract if:
1. The reservation violates these Terms.
2. Another reservation has already been accepted for the same date.
3. The Guest is deemed likely to engage in unlawful or immoral behavior.
4. The Guest is clearly suffering from a contagious disease.
5. The Guest makes violent demands or unreasonable requests, or has done so in the past.
6. Service provision is impossible due to natural disasters, facility failure, or other unavoidable reasons.
7. The Guest is intoxicated and may cause trouble to the Facility or neighbors.
8. The Guest is a member of or associated with an organized crime group.
9. The reservation is made solely by minors.

Chapter 3: Cancellations and Changes

Article 12 (Cancellation Fees)
1. If the Guest cancels the reservation, the following cancellation fees apply:
– 15 days or more before the stay: Free
– 14 to 8 days before the stay: 50%
– 7 days before the stay to the day of stay: 100%
2. Cancellation fees shall be deducted from the advance payment. Any refund shall be borne by the Guest.
Article 13 (No-Show)
If the Guest does not arrive on the reserved date without prior notice, a no-show fee of 100% shall be charged.
If the Guest does not contact the Facility by the start time of the Japanese cooking experience (17:00), it shall be treated as a no-show.
Article 14 (Late Arrival and Missed Experiences)
If the Guest arrives late and cannot participate in part or all of the cooking, matcha, or calligraphy experiences, no refund shall be provided.
Article 15 (Force Majeure Cancellations)
1. If the stay becomes impossible due to force majeure such as natural disasters or pandemics, cancellation fees shall be waived.
2. If public transportation delays or cancellations prevent arrival, and proof is provided, cancellation fees shall be waived.
Article 16 (Changes or Cancellations of Optional Services)
Optional Services (Onigiri & Tamagoyaki Experience, Kimono Experience) are applied and paid on-site; therefore, no cancellation fee applies.
However, services may not be available depending on preparation or operational circumstances.

Chapter 4: Check-in and Check-out

Article 17 (Check-in)
1. Check-in is conducted after meeting at Hanyu Station West Exit at 13:00 and being transported to the Facility.
2. If the Guest arrives by car or wishes to meet elsewhere, arrangements may be made upon consultation.
3. If the Guest arrives significantly later than 13:00, participation in the day’s experiences may not be possible.
Article 18 (Check-out)
1. Check-out time is 10:30.
2. Depending on optional services such as the Onigiri & Tamagoyaki Experience, check-out time may vary.

Chapter 5: Payment

Article 19 (Payment for Accommodation and Experience Fees)
Accommodation fees (including experiences) shall be paid by credit card in USD at the time of online reservation.
Article 20 (Payment for Optional Services)
1. Optional Services shall be paid on-site.
2. Accepted payment methods are cash, credit card, or QR code payment.
3. On-site payments shall be made in Japanese yen, converted from USD prices based on the exchange rate of the day.
Article 21 (Foreign Currency)
Foreign currency payments are not accepted.
Article 22 (Refund Fees)
Any refund-related fees shall be borne by the Guest.

Chapter 6: Facility Rules

Article 23 (Compliance with Facility Rules)
The Guest shall comply with the Facility’s rules.
Article 24 (Prohibited Acts)
The following acts are prohibited:
1. Smoking inside the Facility or on the premises
2. Bringing hazardous materials (fire, fuel, toxic substances)
3. Disturbing other guests or neighbors
4. Improper use of equipment or facilities
5. Any act deemed inappropriate by the Facility
Article 25 (Termination of Contract)
The Facility may terminate the contract if:
1. The Guest engages in unlawful or immoral behavior
2. The Guest is clearly suffering from a contagious disease
3. The Guest makes violent demands or unreasonable requests
4. The Guest is intoxicated and may cause trouble
5. The Guest is associated with organized crime
6. The Guest violates prohibited acts

Chapter 7: Liability

Article 26 (Liability of the Facility)
1. The Facility shall exercise reasonable care in providing services.
2. The Facility may obtain insurance as necessary.
3. If the Guest suffers damage due to reasons attributable to the Facility, compensation shall be limited to ordinary damages.
Article 27 (Liability of the Guest)
If the Guest causes damage to the Facility intentionally or negligently, the Guest shall compensate for such damage.
Article 28 (Disclaimer)
1. The Facility is not liable for injuries or accidents occurring during cooking, matcha, calligraphy, or other experiences unless caused by the Facility’s intentional or gross negligence.
2. The Facility is not liable for injuries such as falls or burns occurring within the Facility (entrance, stairs, bathroom, garden, parking area) if caused by the Guest’s negligence.
3. The Facility is not liable for damages arising from the Guest’s health conditions, allergies, or physical issues.
4. The Facility is not liable for service suspension due to force majeure such as natural disasters, pandemics, power outages, or facility failures.
5. The Facility is not liable if the Guest cannot participate in experiences due to lateness, lack of preparation, or transportation issues.

Chapter 8: Luggage and Valuables

Article 29 (No Advance Storage)
The Facility does not accept advance storage of luggage or valuables.
Article 30 (Lost Items)
1. Lost items shall be kept for 30 days from the date of discovery.
2. Valuables shall be reported to the nearest police station.
3. If the owner is identified, the Facility shall contact them and follow their instructions.
Article 31 (Management of Valuables)
Valuables shall be managed by the Guest.
The Facility is not liable for loss or theft unless caused by intentional or gross negligence.

Chapter 9: Parking

Article 32 (Parking Space)
The Facility provides one parking space, available by prior request.
Article 33 (Disclaimer for Vehicles)
The Facility is not liable for theft, damage, or accidents involving vehicles parked on the premises.

Chapter 10: Internet Use

Article 34 (Use of Wi-Fi)
Internet access provided by the Facility shall be used at the Guest’s own responsibility.
Article 35 (Prohibited Internet Use)
Illegal activities, nuisance behavior, or excessive data usage via the internet connection are prohibited.

Chapter 11: Amendments

Article 36 (Amendments)
The Facility may amend these Terms without prior notice if deemed necessary.
Article 37 (Publication of Amendments)
Amended Terms shall take effect when posted on the Facility’s website.

Chapter 12: Governing Law and Jurisdiction

Article 38 (Governing Language) These Terms and Conditions are prepared in Japanese, English, Korean, Chinese, and Indonesian. In the event of any inconsistency or discrepancy among the different language versions, the Japanese version shall prevail.
Article 39 (Governing Law) These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of Japan.
Article 40 (Jurisdiction) Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Japanese court having jurisdiction over the location of the Facility.
