Halal Support

At 「Hanyu.no.obasanchi」 we are implementing the following measures for guests who wish for halal accommodations.

― Knowledge on Halal ー

We have completed the training for 「Muslim Hospitality Manager」 and 「Halal Administrator」 organized by the Japan Halal Association.

― Halal-Compliant Cooking Lesson ―

The kitchen used for cooking lessons is a pork-free area.

  • Separate from the private kitchen, we provide a dedicated kitchen for cooking lessons in a pork-free area.
  • All cooking utensils, including pots, frying pans, cutting boards, microwaves, and other equipment, are exclusively for halal use and are kept separate from others.

compliant vegetables and seafood as main ingredients.

  • Washoku (Japanese cuisine) mainly uses vegetables and seafood that fall under the Halal category.
  • No ingredients containing alcohol are used.
  • Essential seasonings such as miso, soy sauce, and others are Halal-certified whenever necessary.
  • All meats (chicken, beef) are Halal-certified and sourced from Halal markets.
  • Even for lessons designed for non-Halal participants, Halal-certified chicken, beef, and other ingredients are used, ensuring no contamination with non-Halal ingredients.

― Regarding Religious Practices ―

  • If you need to perform religious practices such as prayer, you are welcome to prioritize them at any time, even during lessons.
  • A Qibla sticker is placed in the guest rooms.
  • Prayer mats are available upon request. Please let us know if you need one.

― About the Facilities ―

  • The toilet is equipped with a bidet system. If you are unsure how to use it, please do not hesitate to ask.
  • You may use the sink or bathroom for purification washing before prayers.
※Our facility is also open to non-Muslim and non-Muslima guests.
※Regarding the free service 「Bon Odori Dance Lesson After Dinner」 While Bon Odori is an enjoyable summer dance, it traditionally carries a religious meaning of welcoming and sending off ancestors. Please consider this carefully before participating.
※Regarding kimono rental: Kimono is a traditional Japanese garment, and women can wear it while keeping their hijab (scarf) on.
※Please also read our information on SDGs.
